Quality Improvement & Education
EPPA continuously strives to provide high quality care, rendered in a compassionate manner, while maintaining the dignity of each patient. Quality, competent, cost-effective emergency care can only be achieved through commitment to continuous internal quality monitoring and appropriate medical education. EPPA fosters this commitment by rigorous case review in a formalized peer review process. Our physicians, scribes, and mid-level practitioners received dedicated time, funding, and educational opportunities throughout the year.
EPPA’s educational efforts target issues essential to practicing emergency medicine and include, but are not limited, to the following:
- The appropriate triage and timely access to care for any person presenting to the emergency department with acute illness or injury.
- The delivery of competent care based on current emergency medicine standards, along with the goal to continuously improve the standards and the practice of emergency medicine.
- The delivery of cost effective health care
- Maintenance or improvement of emergency medicine skills
